Bananasauros is complete!
Bananasauros is a sidescroller, and a total conversion of a DOS game called Commander Keen I have had in the works for nearly a year now. Here's what it looks like:
As you can see, Bananasauros is bright and full of color, and focuses
on an adventurous exploration style of platforming.
Bananasauros's goal is to find his mate and child, who
have been kidnapped by a group of monkeys called Australopithecines.
I think I've said enough, so without further ado...

- Pretzalcoatls can't keep their shields up too long.
- Ekchuah's health doubled.
- changed the werejaguar's damagefactors a bit.
- Super Buzz Blaster now shoots slightly more powerful shots that rip through enemies.
- Added 'Robo Crimson' a new enemy.
- Burrito Crag can only spew a max of 4 burritos.
- Unused sounds were removed. Makes file smaller.
- Inventory things were given colored borders. Blue for items, yellow for abilities,
and red for keys/puzzle items.

The Cenote, a new TC with a Mayan setting
using the GZDOOM engine has been released.

NO EXTERNAL IWADS REQUIRED!
The Cenote puts you in the role of Hun Tapioca
or Ome Chocolate, the hero twin ballplayers
of Chichen Itza as you explore the deep
underwater caverns of the cenote and find
weapons such as the Axe of Chaac and the
Buzz Blaster to aid your journey.
Next up on my to-do list is Honey's escapade,
another GZDOOM TC, and Bananasauros, a TC of
Commander Keen: Invasion of the vorticons.

A limited alpha of deathmatch is finally ready!
Get it here
That's 12 Player classes, 3 maps, and if you're stuck by yourself you
can type "addbot" into the console to add bots to entertain you! You
have to be playing in deathmatch mode for this to work, obviously.
Oh, and here are the screenshots for your curiousity,
and I started working on a character profile page
to summarize our heroes.
I've been thinking for my next Single Player/Co-op adventure project, instead of
getting started on episode 2 of Breadmonster Invasion, I'm feeling motivated
to get cracking on another project called The Cenote starring the twins
Chocolate and Tapioca, taking place in underground tunnels with mesoamerican
architecture.
I know, I update rarely, but to be honest I don't think people are constantly
checking on this page anyway. But I do make an update when it's important ;)

I'm planning to release an alpha version of the deathmatch pack
on July 4th as a, you guessed it, a 4th of July present. It's still
pretty limited at it's present state, but you get 12 playable characters
with unique weapons and abilities for each and 3 maps to play on. If you
have a friend or two to play with, that's awesome. If not, this is really
only good for tinkering and playing around with each of the characters to
get a taste of what they can do.

I'm proud to supply you all with the official 1.0 release
of Breadmonster Invasion Episode 1!
Get it here
But wait, that's not all!
I have also begun writing a strategy guide to help newcomers
find all the the juicy secrets. So far I've only written a
walkthrough of the first map, but you can see that here.
Also, probably the biggest thing of all, I have created a forum at
bananasauros.yuku.com
So if you're a dedicated fan be sure to check that out because I
want to hear from you! But you gotta make a post in the welcome
thread and wait for me to give you access to the other boards
before you can start running amok.
One last thing, I've spent quite a bit of time working on a deathmatch pack.
It will include 10 new playable characters, in addition to Sine and Square
introduced in Breadmonster invasion for a total of 12 player classes to
choose from in deathmatch. Right now there are no levels, but I've worked
a lot on the sprites and believe me that's the thing that takes the most
work.
Stay tuned for more news in the future.
January 30, 2010:
I am extremely pleased to present a limited beta release! Don't be fooled by the fact that it's beta, it's pretty much complete. I just happened to finish it up ahead of schedule, and the "official" release will be on Easter 2010. After the overhaul of testing I've been doing, I'm sick of looking at the game, but since it's fresh to you I hope you like it!
Also, what's a release without screenshots galore! Surely I couldn't expect you to want to download and play something without seeing what it looks like first ;)
